About MyEllevate
MyEllevate is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure designed to improve the appearance of the neck and jawline. The procedure involves making a small incision under the chin, where a special suture is inserted and threaded through to create a supportive sling for the underlying tissue. The suture is then anchored to the jawline, providing a lift to the lower face and neck. The MyEllevate procedure is often performed in combination with liposuction to remove excess fat in the neck and jawline area. This procedure is minimally invasive and requires only local anesthesia, allowing for a quick recovery with minimal downtime. Pre-Treatment Considerations
- Avoid aspirin and medications that contain aspirin.
- No ibuprofen or NSAIDs medications.
- Discontinue all herbal medications (fish oil, multivitamin, vit-E, garlic) and nutritional supplements, etc unless specifically cleared by doctor.
- Avoid all diet pills including prescriptions, over the counter and herbal.
- Avoid all alcohol consumption 2 weeks prior to procedure.
- No smoking as cigarettes reduce the blood flow to the skin and can cause significant complications during the healing process.
- Tylenol is the ONLY pain medicine you can take 2 weeks prior to the procedure.
- Arrange for a ride TO and FROM our office as patients are not permitted to drive after the procedure.
- Wear loose comfortable clothing such as jogging suits, zip-ups, or button-down clothing. Avoid clothing that needs to be pulled over the head.
- Choose flat and easy to slip on/off shoes.
Post-Treatment Considerations
- Sleep at a minimum incline of 45 degrees for the first 10 days of recovery.
- Use pillows or a recliner for support when sleeping.
- Wear a chin strap at all times for the first 3 days and use extra support straps when sleeping.
- Keep the neck brace on for 10 days to prevent neck band recurrence and secure it every night before sleeping.
- Ice the procedure area with frozen peas for 20 minutes every hour while awake.
- Shower with mild soaps or baby shampoo 24 hours after the procedure, avoiding direct streaming of water on the face.
- Do not shave for 10 days post-surgery, but hair trimming or clipping is acceptable.
- Apply Bactroban Ointment with a Q-tip inside each nostril and a thin layer on all incisions once a day for the next 7 days for antibacterial care.
